Public Dialogue Prompt

Over the BQE
Brooklyn, NY 2020

In the summer of 2020 young artists painted a series of seven Public Dialogue Prompts to hang over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway for drivers to read. New York City was in the first phase of reopening from Covid-19 and opportunities for interaction were extremely limited. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers were out of work and were dealing with logistics around the realities of that (ie how to pay rent, what to do with their children if they did find a working opportunity, etc). The isolation and emotions were at an all-time high. With this in mind, young artists considered what would happen if people driving to and from destinations during their inevitably complex days were also faced with Dialogue Prompts?
