Considering the element of color, young artists grades 6th through 8th in Parsons Academy researched artworks to influence their decisions in depicting their ‘innovative selves’. For example, the cohort visited MOMA to observe artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s Evening Star series noting how O’Keeffe’s bold color choices evoke specific emotions.
Young artists determined their own color schemes and to shift self portraits, gestures drawings of their hands, and repetitive line and shapes designs.
