Giraffe Path
A. Philip Randolph High School
Harlem, NY 2015
The high schoolers of A.Philip Randolph, located on St. Nicholas Park in Harlem, painted a mural in their school to draw attention to New York City’s ‘Giraffe Path’. The Giraffe Path, which includes St. Nicholas Park, is an urban trail that connects the Cloisters to Central Park through the escarpment parks of northern Manhattan. This giraffe-shaped trail takes its shape from existing trails and streets that connect Fort Tryon Park, Highbridge Park, Jackie Robinson Park, St. Nicholas Park, Morningside Park, and Central Park.
